Product Overview

Proteins and co-products

As an alternative to animal proteins, Roquette proteins are much appreciated in formulas due to their high nutritional value.

They offer numerous advantages:

  • High proteic concentration and essential amino acids source,
  • Low mineral matter content and non-starch polysaccharides,
  • High digestibility and good tolerance,
  • Absence of anti-nutritional factors,
  • Excellent organoleptic qualities.

Some of these proteins combine nutritional and functional properties, and offer new possibilities for optimization and innovation.

Fibers, oils and solubles

To complete formulation needs, Roquette offers a complete range of fibrous and proteic products (or solubles).

They are polyvalent products with the nutritional value residing in the supply of three principal types of nutriments:

  • Starch, for energy supply
  • A proteic fraction of high digestibility
  • Fibers enhancing the digestive transit

Appetizing and of constant composition, they generally find their interest in formulas for ruminants and monogastric feeds, mainly pigs and poultry.

Starch

(Native starch, pre-gelatinized starch, modified starch)

In addition of their nutritional value, specific to glucids, starches influence greatly the viscosity and texture of the finished products.

Their binding and thickening properties are most notably used in the making of sauces for petfood and in the production of extruded or textured products.

Natives, pre-gelatinized or modified, Roquette starches adapt to nutritional objectives as well as process conditions within factories.

Sugars

Malto-dextrins, glucose syrups, dextrose

In powder or liquid form, Roquette offers a complete range of sugars, obtained through starch hydrolysis, purification and spray-drying.

  • Maltodextrins and dehydrated glucose syrups GLUCIDEX®,
  • Glucose syrups from the ROCLYS® and FLOLYS® range,
  • Dextrose, crystallized form of glucose.

The properties of these sugars are numerous, making the ingredients essential in aromatization, coloring, and texturizing in the finished products.

Polyols (sorbitol)

Essentially known for their sweetening power, some polyols have nutritional and technological characteristics that are of interest for animal nutrition.

This is the case of sorbitol with its detoxifying action on the liver that makes it a highly recommended ingredient as a complement in the animal feeding industry.

As a stabilizer and a humectant, sorbitol allows a lowering of the water activity (or Aw) of finished products and in that way modifying their texture while improving their preservation.

Soluble fiber (Dietary fiber)

Belonging to the latest Roquette innovations, NUTRIOSE® is a soluble prebiotic fiber that above all possesses a preventive action.

Partially resistant to the digestion into the small intestine, NUTRIOSE® soluble fiber contributes to the colon environment regulation and improves digestive comfort.

Its use specifically targets young breeding animals and pets in an uncomfortable situation or in case of colitis.

Easy to use, NUTRIOSE® is a stable product that resists well to different industrial processes.
